. 

1. The Sanborn maps were my biggest discovery. We have had clients’ come into the library and want maps of our era. The resources we have little and have to send most people to the Achieves in the local museum. I am hoping that our area will be added soon because there is a demand for the information

2.  It would be nice if we could have posters for the kids to see and read. We as clerks can verbally promote the sight but it still need to be understood. The summer reading program for the children isn't the format for this kind of education but is a time when we get lots of kids in at one time. We need to find a time to show what we offer and how to use the sights. The students will learn the sights when they go to college and have to do research. The problem is in the grades, high school and older adults that don’t have the primary knowledge of where to get the information. It almost has to be taught in the school as much as I hate to say it.

lesson 9

1. I have an account with ancestry.com and have worked on it for years. I the best part for me is connecting with relatives and sharing information. I am older and have pictures they don't have and they have time to do more research. It has worked well both all of us.

2. I had an uncle that died when the family first got into SD. I found on the census that four children had been born and only three were still living so I have a little window of when he died.

3. It showed the different kinds of information on can find interesting.

4. .Looked for some Kleinsassers but found none. It was interesting on family and name changes. I thought the books looked interesting and I would love to dive in and just read.

5. Checked on Freeman not available neither was Menno or Marion. Parker was the closest and the maps started at 1904, the rail road tracks were on the maps it looked like it was a good sight but it is

Lesson 8

1. There were lots of pictures and letters. He was a strong man with a horse.

2. I Took Secretariat the hose and I found breeders records and Maryland Horse Breeders Association archives.

1. He was a man with a horse, and no he wasn’t a great hero. But from there I go into the library of congress and found all kinds of information on many different people.

Freeman is a community that is raped up with history. We have been fortunate to have a great museum and archive. This could help with all sorts of projects including the new addition drive.

5. It was a nice way to get all my favorite artists all in a row it would work great for a report or presentation for work.

2. Alexander was the first library, there were 3049 sources.

3. The interwoven links to other material that are related to subject. External resources - citing also bring you to the information from responding libraries. Information like this also gives the student a greater search the advanced get more in depth information. I had not worked with More Like This and found it very helpful.

Lesson 6

1. Lots to choose from, I found it interesting that I got to choose the age level. It went from grade 1 to 12 adult levels so important with understanding and the over whelming factor.

2. Love it went from Criminal law hand books to complete idiots guide to American presidents. What more does any student need but the idiots guide and cliff notes.
3. In the search it sent me to smart text searching there I found interesting letters, and Our Elusive Constitution. It was fun to read different articles on the subject. Wish I had more time to play with it.

1. Do a basic search on something of interest to you. Report your findings and observations.

Ginger ale is a beverage we all know, the search showed us that is is also a ale as in beer and something to heat when you get swine flu The information came from magazines, trade journals and newspapers all with one search.

Lesson 3

1.
1. Everyone should play with this. I love the articles newspaper and everything at you finger tips. References and sightings are all part of the pages this would make school work fun.

2. Who discovered zero? The Zero is a fascinating subject that has been passed down through the generation. I found of info and need to keep reading at a later date.

1. Armadillos are cut and there was a lot of information on them.

2. The maps showed us where the country and information on the country I chose Hondas and found all the major water ways.

Lesson 2

1. The Test was good and complete. For the age group I thought it was tough. I wrote simply and was surprised it rating.

2. The writing of a resume is over whelming and scary. A great program that helps in these presses is wonderful. The program was easy to use and the end results hopefully is a job

3. I chose writing 15 min a day. Thought it was great with good ideas for end results.

Lesson 1C

1. The information in the visual dictionary will be very useful for all students but especially the foreign exchange students, non English speaking students and students with learning problems. This kind of information will hopefully give struggling students the ability to succeed if public and privet schools.




2. Our community is becoming more diverse and with that our recourses in our libraries have to grow. With a small town budget information like this helps with addressing our needs. Plus it helps us who what to get more proficient in Spanish interested by hearing and seeing. Never too old to learn?

 

1b lesson

1. World Book on line for kids-The bright pictures and the articles made it is inviting for children to get involved. It was geared down to a small child interest and not to much for short attention spans. I thought it would be wonderful with little children on trips.

2. World Book on line info finder-It had more information and the ability to compare information was great.

3. Reference Center-It had information that could be used by all ages. Dealing with some older people I found it would work will for that age group also.

Discover

With the challenge of understanding in different languages  World Discover will help bridge the difficulties. I especially liked that it will verbalize the text for slow readers.  The reference section in a small library is very difficult and expensive. It will be nice to have current information at the students finger tips.
