1. I have an account with ancestry.com and have worked on it for years. I the best part for me is connecting with relatives and sharing information. I am older and have pictures they don't have and they have time to do more research. It has worked well both all of us.

2. I had an uncle that died when the family first got into SD. I found on the census that four children had been born and only three were still living so I have a little window of when he died.
